metalocalypse

metalocalypse is an adult swim cartoon that first aired in 2006 but continues to have a loyal fanbase nearly two decades later. the series follows the fictional melodic death metal band dethklok. the premise of the show is usually zany antics between the characters while a shady group called the tribunal tries to destroy them, as the band are part of the "apocalypse of metal" sumerian prophecy.

dethklok are the world's most successful and popular death metal band, consisting of nathan explosion (lead vocalist and lyricist), skwisgaar skwigelf (lead guitar; taller than a tree), toki wartooth (rhythm guitar; not a bumblebee), pickles (drums), and murderface (bass). they are the world's seventh largest economy and have billions of dedicated fans who risk severe mutilation or death to see them perform. however, their most loyal of servants are charles offdensen (manager and lawyer; don't fuck with his bread and butter) and the klokateers (body guards, roadies, etc.).
